Qualifying session of the Gran Premio bwin de España saw local favorite Dani Pedrosa edged his countryman Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo to secure pole position ahead of Sunday’s race at the Jerez circuit. The top ten rider is just separated by 0.9 second, with Pedrosa topping the timesheet with a best lap time of 1.39.202.

Lexus secured a 1-2-3 position in the GT500 Class after the qualifying session for the 3rd Round of the Autobacs Super GT 2010 Series ended at the Fuji International Speedway. On pole is the MJ KRAFT SC430 (above) of Hiroaki Ishiura and Kazuya Oshima, joined by the PETRONAS TOM’S SC430 of Juichi Wakisaka and Andre Lotterer on the front row. The most impressive performance was from the ENEOS SC430, the leader in the driver’s point ranking. Although with a 42 kg handicap, 28 kg more than pole position winner and 4 kg more than 2nd place PETRONAS TOM’S SC430, the driver pairing of Daisuke Ito and Bjorn Wirdheim managed to secure third spot on the grid.

APRC Malaysian round continues on the second and last day with Alister McRae winning stage 9, just beating Katsu Taguchi by 2 seconds. But it turns out to be a disastrous day for McRae after his Satria Neo S2000 engine broke down in stage 11 caused by a damaged radiator. It’s now solely up to Chris Atkinson to get a result for the PROTON R3 Malaysia Rally Team.
