‘Formula 1’

According to Germany’s Bild, we have understood more about the rumors surrounding Kimi. He is now on a sabbatical Formula One leave to Red Bull Citroen. Redbull seems pretty keen to reinstate Raikonen’s F1 seat. With Webber allegedly claiming to empty the seat next year it all makes sense now that Red Bull planned to keep Kimi close to them perhaps for easy monitoring.

My intuition advises me that with him in the rally team, it will present them the chance to access Raikkonen’s form and assess his motivation levels pretty straightforwardly. And then at the end of the year, it’s a great option to sign him or not depending if Red Bull like what they witness this year. On a side note, Raikkonen’s rally pace this year is not a problem, he just needs to string the stages together and have a bit more rally experience under his belt.

But if he does return, it will be five world champions showdown in F1 next year. A prospect that everyone especially the fans would welcome with an open hand.
