SUPER GT Round 1 – Okayama GT 250km Race : KEIHIN HSV-010 Takes 1st Pole of the Season for Honda

Despite the threat of rain early on, qualifying resumes in a normal fine weather for the Okayama GT 250km Race. Qualifying was run with a new knockout format, starting with Q1, proceeding into Q2 and Q3.

Koudai Tsukakoshi recorded the fastest lap in Q3 to take pole position for the KEIHIN HSV-010 in the GT500 Class with a time of 1’24.507 ahead of the CALSONIC IMPUL GT-R of Tsugio Matsuda and Joao Paulo Lima de Oliveira. The RAYBRIG HSV-010 took third with a time of 1’25.229 set by Takuya Izawa. Former Williams F1 driver Kazuki Nakajima registered a time of 1’25.232 to take 4th for PETRONAS TOM’S SC430.

In the GT300 Class, Tetsuya Tanaka recorded the fastest time of 1’33.264 to take pole position for JIMGAINER DIXCEL DUNLOP 458 with their newly debuted Ferrari 458 Italia GT3. Hiroki Yoshimoto took 2nd for triple a Vantage GT2 ahead of the ARTA Garaiya of Shinichi Takagi and Kosuke Matsuura.
